Target Audience
This initiative is designed to address the professional needs of specialty NPs and PAs involved in the care of patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). 

Statement of Need

Elevated LDL-C and lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] are well-established contributors to atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). Ongoing advances in lipid research continue to refine approaches to screening, risk assessment, and management. Engaging with the latest 2026 guideline-based strategies offers opportunities to optimize individualized treatment planning and further improve cardiovascular outcomes across patient populations.

Learning Objectives

After participating in this education, learners will be able to:

  • Employ evidence-based screening strategies to evaluate patients for elevated LDL-C and Lp(a) levels
  • Evaluate the clinical safety and efficacy of current and emerging treatment options for managing elevated LDL-C in patients with or at-risk for ASCVD
  • Create personalized plans to manage elevated LDL-C in patients at risk of an ASCVD event using current guidelines and shared decision-making
